Gem Wizard: Ability Requirements: Intelligence 16, Wisdom 13 Prime Requisite: Intelligence Races Allowed: Human, Elf, Half-Elf Level Restrictions: Elf: UA Half-Elf: 16 Humans: 6 Sages have speculated for a long time on why Elves and Half-Elves have been able to use this magic to great extent, while Humans cannot. Most speculate that it is because of the nature of the elves with the world around them give them this unique ability, while only a rare handful of humans are able to invoke the most mundane of this magic, which sages speculate that those who can use this magic, has some trace of elven blood somewhere in his or her lineage, but this has yet to be proven. Using this magic is at best a tricky art as it is still an unperfected form. Mages of this art must inscribe runes into valuable gemstones to act as focusing agents for their spells. Why this is, nobody yet knows, but few other mediums are known to exist that is able to focus the magical energies properly so as not to cause harm to the mage and his allies. Since it is a tricky magical art, the very vessels that are used by the mage can also be consumed by his or her magic. Gems have a chance of being consumed based on the level of the magic user shown on the chart below.
